10th Anniversary Logo Design Competition
CEDARS will turn ten in 2016. You are cordially invited to join our 10th Anniversary Logo Design Competition.
Theme
Celebrating the 10th Anniversary of CEDARS
Rules
1. The competition is open to all full- time HKU students.
2. The number of entries is not restricted. Submission can be made by individual or group. All submitted entries will not be returned.
3. Logos must be consistent with the theme for celebrating the 10th Anniversary of CEDARS and echo the current CEDARS logo.
4. Logos should be the original work and have not been used on any prior occasion.
5. It is the sole responsibility of each participant to ensure that his/her logo does not infringe copyright, privacy rights, regulations, orders or directions of any third party.
6. CEDARS will own the copyright to all entries. We acquire the right to publish, exhibit and publicize the entries, including, but not limited to, such usage on internet, printed or electronic marketing materials, and shirts for sale.
7. The judging panel members shall be chosen by CEDARS and shall have the final decision on the results of the competition.
Logo Design Competition
1. Clip arts and templates are not permitted.
2. Each submission should be in AI, TIFF, PDS or JPEG format, A4 size 300-500 dpi.
Judging Criteria

1. Creativity
2. Originality
3. Aesthetic value
4. Versatility
5. Relevance to the theme
Submission
1. Please state that the submission is for the 10th Anniversary Logo Design Competition, and include your name, programme, year of study, mobile number and email address at the back of each entry. Entries can be submitted to CEDARS on 3/F Meng Wah Complex or by email: cedars@hku.hk.
2. The deadline for submission is 30 April 2015. Late submission will not be considered.
Award
1. The champion, first runner-up and second runner-up of the competitions will each receive a Prize Certificate and book coupons of $2,000, $500 and $300 respectively.
2. Winning logos may be displayed in the CEDARS’s materials where appropriate.
Announcement and presentation of awards
1. Winners will be informed individually no later than 30 June, 2015.
2. Those who do not receive such notification shall consider their entries unsuccessful.
3. The judging panel may decide not to make any award.
Adoption of the logo
It will be decided by the selection committee and not necessarily be confined to the winning logos. Moreover, CEDARS reserves the right to modify any logos submitted for use as the Department logo.
