Overview

Banking Talent Programme is an initiative jointly launched by the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the banking industry to nurture young talents for the industry and provide participants with an opportunity to better prepare for future careers in the banking sector, particularly in times of the ongoing impact of COVID-19 on Hong Kong’s economy and labour market. Targeting bachelor's degree fresh graduates, the 2021 Programme is expanded with more job opportunities offered by banks, Stored Value Facilities operators, together with the HKMA. Professional Training

A series of induction seminars organised by the HKMA, in collaboration with the Hong Kong Academy of Finance and the Hong Kong Institute of Bankers (HKIB), as well as industry-specific training courses will be provided to participants under the Programme.

Eligibility

Students who are Hong Kong residents and graduating with a bachelor’s degree in 2021 are eligible to apply, and the disciplines preferred will depend on the work nature of specific jobs and the need of participating institutions.

Programme Period

The 2021 Programme will start from early September 2021 and last for a period of six months to end of February 2022.

Salary

A monthly salary of HK$12,000 will be offered to the Programme participants. Also, HKMA will subsidise the course fees for the relevant professional training courses attended by the participants.

Offer confirmation: Jul to Aug 2021 (* some employers will follow a different timeline or will give out offer on a rolling basis)

HKU Nomination

Some participating firms welcome student nominations from HKU for the Programme. Candidates being nominated by CEDARS will be given priority during the selection process. Please refer to the below job list and follow the two-step guideline in application if you would like to be considered by CEDARS for nomination to the participating firms.

Step 1: Direct Application to Employer

Follow the application method as shown in each job advertisement in the official programme website. Please note that different positions have different application deadlines.

Step 2: Application to HKU CEDARS

Submit this online application form in order to be considered by CEDARS for nomination to the employers. You must complete "Step 1" before you apply to CEDARS.

The application deadline to CEDARS is 20 July 2021 (Tue).
