Banking Talent Programme - Airstar Bank (HKU Nomination)

Overview

The Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) and the banking industry have jointly launched the Banking Talent Programme to nurture young talents for the industry, and provide participants with an opportunity to better prepare for future careers in the banking sector. The Programme targets fresh graduates from local universities who will be offered six-month work opportunities and industry-specific training. The Programme is supported by the Hong Kong Association of Banks (HKAB) and all local universities. For more details, please refer to: http://www.hkib.org/bankingtalent.

Professional Training

A series of induction seminars as well as professional training courses will be organised by the HKMA, in collaboration with The Hong Kong Academy of Finance, The Hong Kong Institute of Bankers and reputable industry practitioners.

Eligibility

Students graduating with a bachelor's degree in 2020 from local universities may apply for the Programme, and the disciplines preferred will depend on the work nature of specific jobs and the needs of participating firms.

Programme Period

The Programme will start from early September 2020 and last for a period of six months.

Salary

A monthly salary of HK$12,000 will be offered to the Programme participants. Also, HKMA will subsidise the course fees for the relevant professional training courses attended by the participants.

HKU Nomination

Airstar Bank Limited is inviting a new round of nominations from HKU for the Programme. Candidates being nominated by CEDARS will be given priority during the selection process. Please refer to the below job information and follow the two steps in application if you want to be considered by CEDARS for nomination to Airstar Bank.

Step 1: Direct Application to Airstar Bank

Complete the Airstar Application Form and send it together with your CV to humanresources@airstarbank.com.

Step 2: Application to HKU CEDARS

Submit the below online application form in order to be considered by CEDARS for nomination to Airstar Bank. You must complete "Step 1" before you apply to CEDARS. The application deadline to CEDARS is 23 August 2020 (Sunday).

Job Description:
- Evaluate business process in different aspect in the bank, collect requirements, identify areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions
- Interpret business needs and translate them into system requirements
- Write business specifications and forward to developers for system development
- Conduct meetings and presentation to share ideas and findings
- Coordinate and collaborate across business and technology functions to ensure comprehensive solutions are delivered
- Conduct quality assurance on the solutions, execute tests and follow up with resolution of defects

Requirement: University degree in Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
