HKU fresh graduates who wish to gain experience in the workplace are invited to take part in the HKU Graduate Internship Programme 2021, which will commence in July or August and last for four months. Successful applicants can gain on-the-job experience and understanding of University operations while contributing to their alma mater.

    Medical Ethics and Humanities Unit
    The appointee will support an Assistant Lecturer (supervisor) in coordinating the planning and development of a novel experiential learning workshop that seeks to help medical students understand better about older adults and the human experience of ageing, such that they can be capable of providing humanistic care to older patients in their future practice.     The intern will be on board in early September as we kick off the project. He/she is expected to perform a range of administrative tasks, including (i) coordinating planning meetings, (ii) identifying and recruiting potential partners/volunteers, (iii) scheduling activities (e.g. face-to-face small-group workshops, peer sharing tutorials), (iv) communicating with older adults, carers and volunteers, (v) preparing teaching materials, (vi) answering student enquiries and (vii) administering surveys.

    Learning about Aging is Learning about Living a Finite Life. For those who enjoy volunteering, meeting older adults, greeting carers, listening to personal stories, or just pondering about meaning of life, this will be a meaningful internship.
